ANNOUNCEMENT
01 March 10
The Football Operations department recently made a recommendation to the Club's Executive Committee that we appoint Warren Carlyle as both Senior team and Club Captain for season 2010. That recommendation received unanimous support and was ratified accordingly.
The formal announcement was made to the playing group last Wednesday evening at Gordon Barnard Oval.
Warren joined Old Camberwell in 2009, having played at TAC, VFL, WAFL level, and in country Victoria. Warren started his footy at Montmorency FC in the Diamond Valley League, and he then progressed to the Northern Knights in the elite Under 18s TAC Cup development program. Following stints with Coburg & Port Melbourne in the VFL and Perth in the WAFL, he found himself playing in the country, at Yarrawonga. Fortunately for our club, Warren maintained contact with his former coach at Montmorency, Michael Sigalas, who also coached at Old Camberwell for a number of years as our Under 19s anbd Senior C>

BRING ON SEASON 2010
19 February 10
April is just around the corner!
The committee and the coaching staff have worked very hard to get the ball rolling for season 2010. Off the field the committee have made many objectives come to fruition, thanks to the hard work and time put in, the GBO surface is like a green carpet and as you can see below, the new club rooms are well underway. The ever popular match day lunches will return along with the famous Gala Dinner where the auction items rival Christie's for exclusivity! Many player and supporter functions will add to the stacked social calendar. Watch the social page to see when and where these events take place. The Wellsmen in their second year will once again add their invaluable support to the club both on and off the field.
The coaching staff through meticulous planning and organisation have inspired the players and there are great numbers at training already and all signs point to a fit squad >

APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS
19 November 09
It is with great pleasure that I can announce to the Club’s community the appointment of our inaugural Director of Football Operations – Phil Ballis. Those of you have had the opportunity to read the Club’s Strategic Plan for 2010-2013 will have seen a detailed Position Description developed for this new position. Whilst this exciting new position will be a work in progress and evolve through the Football Operations Sub-committee, it is a co-ordination and mentoring role that covers all teams, players and coaching personnel. In a sense, it is an all-encompassing on-field operational role for the Club that works very closely with our Senior Coach, Tim Killworth, to ensure that our playing direction and philosophies are understood and embraced from our most junior players right through to our senior personnel. We are thrilled to have attracted someone of the calibre and experience of Phil Ballis to accept this pivotal role. Phil has had a wealth of exp>
