The Launch of our “True Blue Future” Campaign
In our 50th Anniversary Year, we have sought and received registration with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) to establish a tax deductible, capital fundraising campaign to initially raise at least $120,000 to continue offering the best possible sporting support in the community.
We need to raise at least $120,000 dollars via our capital campaign to initially provide much-needed items within our new Pavilion including gymnasium equipment and rehabilitation equipment, as well as an electronic scoreboard and coaches boxes/interchange shelters.
Please consider making a contribution to help make sure that young people living within our community have a place to enjoy their sporting and social development with the best possible facilities and equipment.
By contributing to our TRUE BLUE FUTURE capital campaign, you'll be recognised as a donor on our Club website (www.ocgfc.com.au) and in upcoming issues of our newsletters and other publications. You'll also enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that your generosity will help make a real difference to the quality of sporting support we can provide.
The OLD CAMBERWELL TRUE BLUES are counting on the support of our extended football family and the local community. Please complete and return your ASF capital campaign donation form (attached). Every donation, no matter what size, is greatly appreciated and will be put to excellent use. Thank you in advance for your willingness to support the principles of amateur football and help make a difference in our community.
Amateur Football is all about playing with your team-mates for the love of the game. In this world of ever-growing commercialism, greed and ‘me-me-me’, it’s great to be part of a not-for-profit sporting club where everybody is recognised as EQUALS – on-field and off-field. And being ‘professional’ doesn’t just mean engaging in an activity for gain – the purer meaning of being ‘professional’ is engaging in any activity with great competence.
THE TRUE BLUES’ aim is to become the most ‘professional’ amateur football club in the VAFA. A lofty aspiration that involves coming up with at least $150,000 each year just to support four football teams in the amateur competition. When only a fifth of this total is funded by player memberships, you can see that our Club relies heavily on volunteers, social activities, sponsors, supporters and fundraising to meet annual expenses.
Old Camberwell Grammarians Amateur Football Club currently provides a community organisation offering sporting fellowship, social interaction and football development to over 120 young men, their families and supporters each year. In our 50th year of existence, we have conservatively been part of the social and sporting development of over 3,000 players. Apart from our first year in 1960, our spiritual home for 49 years has been Gordon Barnard Reserve, North Balwyn.
The OLD CAMBERWELL TRUE BLUES provides an avenue for our players to pursue their football enjoyment within the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), the largest amateur league in Australia. In 2010, Old Camberwell will be fielding four football teams – U18 in the second exciting year of a new VAFA competition, U19 in its first year at Premier level, and Seniors & Reserves in Premier C Section.
Our Club’s mission is to continue to develop meaningful pathways for sporting and social development from junior community football through to senior community football.
With the imminent completion of our new Pavilion and Clubrooms at Gordon Barnard Reserve comes the added pressure of fitting out our new home with much-needed training equipment, rehabilitation equipment and other items – all requiring expenditure in excess of our annual operational budget.
The Australian Sports Foundation Ltd. (ASF) was established by the Australian Government to assist organisations to raise funds through public & corporate donations for the development of sport in Australia. Pursuant to the ASF’s listing in the Income Tax Assessment Act (1997) (div 30, S 30-90), donations of $2 or more to the ASF are tax deductible. Donors must contribute unconditionally to the ASF to claim a tax deduction, however the ASF’s structure makes it possible for a donor to nominate a registered project as the preferred beneficiary of their gift.
OLD CAMBERWELL GRAMMARIANS FOOTBALL CLUB INC. – " A TRUE BLUE FUTURE" CAMPAIGN, project no. 210215, is registered with and conducted under the charter of the ASF. All claims are subject to being accepted by the Commissioner of Taxation. If either an individual or business is uncertain of their position they should seek their own professional advice.
