Alcohol Policy
This policy aims to provide a basis for the responsible management of alcohol by Old Camberwell Grammarians Football Club. This policy
applies to all members, administrators, officials, coaches, players, visitors
and volunteers of Old Camberwell Grammarians Football Club.
This policy is
effective from 1 January 2009.
- Old Camberwell Grammarians Football
Club is committed to conduct all aspects of alcohol service in a professional
and responsible manner, comply with all applicable laws and adhere to endorsed
Liquor Service Codes of Practice.
- An appropriate liquor licence will be obtained when serving alcohol at any club function or event.
- Non and low alcoholic alternative drinks will be provided at all times. Tap water will be
provided free of charge from the bar.
- Functions, events or promotions will
not be conducted that encourage excessive alcohol consumption as an incentive to
attract patrons. (ie: cheap drink promotions, drinking competitions and
all-inclusive cover charges).
- Alcohol or drink cards/vouchers will not be provided as player awards or prizes for raffles and fundraising.
- Old Camberwell Grammarians Football Club acknowledge that drunkenness, under-age drinking and alcoholism are serious social issues and therefore supports
initiatives that assist in addressing and preventing these issues.
Policy Promotion
The Old Camberwell Grammarians Football Club will promote the alcohol
management policy by actively promoting the policy on the Club's website and by
providing a copy of the policy to all members upon registration each year.
The Old Camberwell Grammarians Football Club recognises the importance of educating
members, particularly players in the benefits of implementing an alcohol
management policy and will endeavour to provide information to assist this
process.
Non-Compliance Strategies
All Old Camberwell Grammarians Football Club
committee members will enforce the alcohol management policy and any
non-compliance will be handled according to the following process;
- Explanation of the policy to the person/people concerned, including
identification of the section of policy not being complied with.
- Continued
non-compliance with the policy should be handled by at least two committee
members, who will use their discretion as to the action taken, which will
include asking the person/ people to leave the association/club facilities or
function.
