Director of Communications

OBJECTIVES

• To promote the activities of the Club amongst our community and in whatever media is deemed appropriate.
• To ensure the Club’s website and contact database are maintained at optimum operational levels.
• To coordinate the effective and positive promotion of the Club.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with the Committee of Management, is responsible for all promotional matters of the Club and contributes to the overall strategic planning, development and effectiveness of the Club.
• Develops a budget for promotional activities of the Club to meet the financial requirements of the Club.
• Facilitates the preparation, production and coordination of all required promotional materials.
• Co-ordinate and maintain the integrity of all proprietary images of the Club.
• Review all promotional materials to ensure uniformity of appropriate standards and relevant images so that all public relations communications and publications reflect current Club philosophy.
• Prepare recommendations and reports as required.
• Specific tasks for this sub-committee will include:
     Weekly newsletter from pre-season to end of season to be emailed to the Club database and displayed on the website.
     Provide VAFA and local newspapers with regular and newsworthy items.
     Provide interesting news items about the Club to the major newspapers.
     Maintain website with up-to-date and complete information.
• Ensure all notifications and advice to the Club’s community is performed in a timely manner.
• Keep the Committee of Management informed on matters relating to public relations and publications.
• Attend Committee of Management Meetings and provide regular sub-committee reports.

RELATIONSHIPS

• Reports to the Club Executive and the Committee of Management.

ACCOUNTABILITY

• The Director of Communications is accountable to the Executive and Committee of Management.
