Director of Player Welfare & Team Support

OBJECTIVES

• To lead an enthusiastic sub-committee charged with supporting the ongoing welfare of all players within the Club
• To ensure the players that join our Club are provided with the best possible care and attention both on-field and off-field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works with the Committee of Management, is responsible for all player welfare and team support aspects of the Club and contributes to the overall strategic planning, development and effectiveness of the Club.
• To develop a budget and plan for player welfare & team support for our Club aimed at maximising the health, happiness and well-being of our playing group.
• Develop a report, for ratification by the Committee of Management, for the best structure for team support personnel for each playing group.
• Liaise with Football Operations and Facilities & Property as required to ensure all player welfare issues are addressed.
• Co-ordinate all player welfare and team support requirements for all areas of the Club.
• Ensure all required player welfare and team support staff are in place prior to the commencement of the season and that all supplies and materials are acquired.
• Ensure the Player Welfare & Team Support sub-committee manages effective relationships with all Club personnel.
• Develop networks for assisting players with career planning, employment, educational advice, social disciplines and acceptable behaviours.
• Attend Committee of Management Meetings and provide regular sub-committee reports.
 

RELATIONSHIPS

• Reports to the Club Executive and the Committee of Management.
• Leads the Player Welfare Subcommittee and attracts as many interested people as required to assist on this sub-committee.
• Supports any person responsible for providing services associated with player welfare.

ACCOUNTABILITY

• The Director of Player Welfare & Team Support is accountable to the Executive and Committee of Management.
• The Director of Player Welfare & Team Support shall seek ratification from the Committee of Management for the annual player welfare/team support budget and shall thereafter have the authority to act within the limits of the agreed terms without reference to the Committee of Management.
