President

OBJECTIVES

To ensure the Club promotes the participation and achievement of its football teams at the highest possible level and that all junior members are given the highest level of coaching and competition to promote their development to senior ranks within the Club. Ensure the Club is run efficiently administratively, financially and socially to support the on field activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The President is the principle leader of the Club and has overall responsibility for the Club’s administration.
• Ensure Committee and Sub-committee members fulfill their responsibilities to the Club.
• Preside at all Executive and Committee of Management meetings.
• Set the meeting agendas in conjunction with the Secretary.
• Manage the Annual General Meeting and provide a President’s Report.
• Represent the Club at all required events.
• Ensure the planning and budgeting for the future is carried out in accordance with the wishes of the members.


RELATIONSHIPS

• Reports to the members and the Committee of Management of the Club.
• Acts in, or ensures any delegate appointed acts in, the best interests of the Club.
• Supports all Coaches, Managers and Committee members.


ACCOUNTABILITY

• The President is accountable to the Club’s Members and its Committee of Management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Ideally, the President is someone who:

• Can communicate effectively and with confidence.
• Is well informed of all activities of the Club.
• Is aware of the future direction and plans of the members.
• Has a good working knowledge of the Club’s Constitution.
• Is a supportive leader for all members.
